Typical camping gear will be necessary. At this time you should plan on carrying everything yourself. There is a possibility of someone transporting items everyday but that has not been confirmed. Showers will only be availabe on night 1 and 3. Members of the journey will be divied out cooking responsibilities ahead of departure.
Do not underestimate. Be prepared for a physically and mentally taxing trip. It is very achievable especially if you stick together.-Pack light but be prepared.-Bring rain gear or in our case bread bags, duct tape, and trash bags haha-Be prepared for sucky weather (maybe cold and rainy, maybe hot and sunny) but stay positive and be adaptable-Be kind, patient, and grateful and allow people to show you kindness-Take care of yourself and each other, tend your feet, wear sunscreen, use the bug spray, have a small first aid kit ready-Good walking shoes, definitely broken in and whatever preference you have from barefoot to boots, probably going to get blisters so just care for them and keep your mind off it-I'd aim to carry 3 liters of water and fill up every chance you get-It's a long haul, get to know each other and be goofy, keeps your mind off some of the hurt ;)-Being a pilgrimage, don't forget to ponder how it was for those soldiers trudging through much worse conditions and not by choice. Do some research before and share some stories about Fr. Kapaun and other saints. Take time to pray personally and together.
